Odd Couples Housing Becomes Gold Level Mosaic Ambassador Company

Odd Couples Housing Becomes Gold Level Mosaic Ambassador Company

We are proud to announce that Odd Couples Housing has joined the St. Louis Mosaic Project as a gold level Ambassador company becoming the 37th Company to join our goal of helping St. Louis to become more globally welcoming, and thereby making a difference in the community. Odd Couples Housing is doing just that and is committed to doing much more as a Mosaic Ambassador.

Odd Couples Housing pairs up older adults who have extra living space in their home with young adults who are looking for affordable housing. The arrangement helps both parties: older adults are able to stay in their homes longer and young adults find secure safe, affordable housing. Not only is there a financial benefit, but both homeowner and seeker benefit from companionship and an unexpected friendship. Odd Couples Housing has also found a natural way to help the local immigrant community – many of those looking for housing are international graduate students seeking affordable options. In addition, the organization crafts their online messaging to be welcoming and accessible to foreign born applicants.

Moving forward, Odd Couples Housing will strive to highlight Mosaic’s work, and partner with other organizations in St. Louis who value diversity ensuring a welcoming and connected community for immigrants.

About the St. Louis Mosaic Project The St. Louis Mosaic Project was launched in 2012 in response to an economic impact report, outlining St. Louis to be lagging in immigrant growth as well as highlighting the economic benefits of increasing its foreign-born population. The Mosaic Project is a regional initiative that is professionally managed by St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center St. Louis and a 32-member committee. Its goal is to transform St. Louis into the fastest growing major metropolitan area for immigration by 2025, to add 25,000 more foreign born to the region from 2016-2025 and to promote regional prosperity through immigration and innovation.
