Cardinal Ritter College Prep School to join St. Louis Mosaic Ambassador School Program

Cardinal Ritter College Prep School to join St. Louis Mosaic Ambassador School Program Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School (CRCP) has become the newest Mosaic Ambassador School, bringing the total number of schools to X. The St. Louis Mosaic Project Ambassador School program for schools K-12 reinforces its member school’s inclusive and welcoming culture through pledges that are unique to each school. Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory High School was established in August of 1979 as the first African American co-educational Catholic college prep high school in the country. The mission of faith development, academic excellence, and leadership has withstood the test of time, providing an exemplary college preparatory educational experience for more than 3,000 St. Louis metropolitan area youth since 1979. Graduating classes achieve 100% college acceptance rates, and CRCP college persistence rates of 82% are higher than the average of all high schools nationally. CRCP has foreign-born staff members and showcases the diversity of the school by murals and flags at the school. Moreover, they offer an inclusive multicultural curriculum. The World Languages Department specially embraces it by empowering students linguistically and culturally through authentic language experiences that educate students to be culturally competent leaders in the future. Regarding their programs, CRCP has pledged to offer international panels and roundtables, like an international breakfast with foreign-born leaders in our community, to create an opportunity for learning, growth, and action that will lead to a positive impact to the community. Finally, they have also designed a Christian service project dedicated to welcoming and helping the immigrant and refugee community in St. Louis.

As a Mosaic Ambassador School, Cardinal Ritter will be more resourceful and successful in its commitment to creating a more welcoming region and help the international families in our region feel a sense of belonging in the St. Louis community. About the St. Louis Mosaic Project The St. Louis Mosaic Project was launched in 2012 in response to an economic impact report, outlining St. Louis to be lagging in immigrant growth as well as highlighting the economic benefits of increasing its foreign-born population. The Mosaic Project is a regional initiative that is professionally managed by St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, World Trade Center St. Louis and a 32-member committee. Its goal is to transform St. Louis into the fastest growing major metropolitan area for immigration by 2025, to add 25,000 more foreign born to the region from 2016-2025 and to promote regional prosperity through immigration and innovation.
